The fact that HELiOS can be deeply integrated in a CAD system is one of its greatest advantages when compared to ERP Systems with PDM components. As a result all PDM/PLM capabilities are available right at the start of the process cycle, not with the first item search!
The Plot Manager
Today the PDF format is regarded as the standard format for data exchange. Many customer projects contain automatically generated .PDF files of CAD drawings and other documents depending on the status of workflow or on request. In this case the central element is the HELiOS Plot Manager that is able to create optional outputs, including exchange formats such as DXF or STEP, from the HELiOS Desktop without the necessity of a CAD licence. In small and middle sized companies routine work such as the conversion and plotting of designs is usually carried out directly by the design engineer. In these cases, HELiOS Plot Manager can save time and effort and free the design engineer for more productive and gainful work.
New Markets
The opening of new markets and the economic use of the advantages of new locations is also of interest to small and

medium sized companies. Many of our customers use Replication Management and the implementation of the Vault Server to control safe and swift data transfers between different geographic locations. In addition, these tools can be used for “tele-work” by personnel.
Internet Access
The HELiOS Internet Server enables staff members, customers and suppliers in all geographic locations to directly access important projects, documents and components – even without PDM installation. In accordance with access permissions, information can be visualised and downloaded. Central data storage ensures that all changes can be immediately seen by all authorised users.
High-End System with Product Configurator
Through a parallel use of our system solution HELiCON it is possible to extend HELiOS to become a high-end system with product configurator. HELiCON is the innovative tool for convenient generation of flexible product configurators for custom-tailored products. Product configurators created with this tool instantly generate on request of your sales department or even of the end customer all relevant product data and documents from the offer to the virtual 3-D model – even for highly complex, customised products.
