Redundancy-free Data Management
The data collected during a production cycle, such as draft designs and requirements analyses, as well as master parts, parts lists, technical drawings and photos, catalogues, films etc., are all important information carriers for the product model. This information is gathered, centrally managed, structured and then optionally linked to projects by HELiOS Document Management. HELiOS offers all facilities for the electronic archiving of documents that are not yet in digital form. In this way a complete digital description of a product – the digital product model - is created. Supported by easy-to-use search functions and graphic previews, it enables all those taking part in the process cycle to have immediate access to relevant, up-to-date model data.
Automated Workflow
Smooth cooperation depends on an efficient, organised communication between staff members and is therefore as important as the availability of data. This is particularly true in the case of personnel located in different time zones, as verbal agreements are only possible for short periods during working hours. Staff members need therefore to be fully informed about process runs as well as the status of the project and forthcoming tasks.

HELiOS coordinates, controls and organises all processes associated with the modelling and assembly of a product – with graphical workflow definition. In addition, process sequences can be triggered at a specific time or by a specific event. Order jobs, job instructions etc. are automatically generated and passed to responsible staff members. Thus considerably shortening order lead times.
High Security!
HELiOS offers a high level of security (ref. ISO 9000 ff) for data management and the control of process cycles. This begins in the early phases of product development with the specification of revision/release sequences. In particular, access and version management ensures a secure process cycle. Access management grants permissions to users and logs each access. Version management guarantees the consistency of product model data throughout its life cycle. Although the current version is continually available, older versions can always be completely reproduced.
Automatic Reporting
Parts Lists and Bills of Materials are the most important source of information for everyone associated with product processes. They list and describe the component parts required for a product. HELiOS enables product structure to be derived directly from part structure irrespective of the CAD system used. Parts Lists are then automatically created from the product structure. High-power flexible functions in the HELiOS Report Manager make it possible to process and re-use Parts Lists. Lists can be filtered according to diverse criteria, expanded by columns with individual calculation formulas or exported in formats such as MS Excel, HTML or Text – for coupling to MRS/ERP formats.
