The integration of various data-creating systems into the HELiOS database makes HELiOS a central technological knowledge reservoir of a company, ensuring the consistency of all product data, whether within individual locations or across various locations of a multi-site enterprise.
CAD Integration
Especially in conjunction with a CAD system, the use of PDM can be of great benefit for a manufacturing company, as this is the only way to realise an all-embracing standardisation enabling significant reductions of production costs. Part diversity can be markedly reduced by appropriate classification functions, which in turn cuts administrative costs and increases the output of serial parts. At the same time, product quality is improved by the re-use of tried-and tested parts.
In their cooperation with customers, partners and suppliers, many companies encounter a rather heterogeneous CAD architecture.

The multi-CAD capability of HELiOS ensures that the required data is made available to all applications by providing interfaces with CAD systems such as HiCAD®, Autocad®, SolidWorks® or Inventor®. The HELiOS functionality will be integrated into the user interface of the respective CAD application.
ERP Interface
With its open concept, HELiOS is perfectly suited to form an integral part of PLM concepts, which is also reflected in the constantly rising number of ERP interfaces. Currently more than 30 different ERP systems are supported, with a growing tendency towards online interfaces allowing an enhanced interaction between ERP and PDM. The advantages of such interfaces are obvious, as they enable access to a consistent database for all departments of a company. Examples of such interfaces are SAP, PSI-Penta, Brain, MAS 90 etc.
Microsoft Office® Interfaces
Much product-related information of a company is created, outside of CAD and PDM systems, with various Microsoft Office® applications. These data, e.g. texts, tables or e-mails, can also be integrated into the product model which is managed by HELiOS via interfaces with Microsoft Office applications.
